Harpsichordists from all over the world are invited to join this international association, which promotes new harpsichord music.

Procembalo was set up by the Associazione Clavicembalistica Bolognese, active in the field of contemporary harpsichord music. Since it was formed under Paola Bernardi it has promoted concerts and performances of the modern repertoire with top level performers, such as Mariolina De Robertis. The current chair, Maria Pia Jacoboni, continues this commitment today.

Since the publication of Il Clavicembalo nella Musica Contemporanea Italiana in 2005, research and dissemination of new music has continued with online publication, particularly suited to music. Work is in progress on a new anthology of works for solo harpsichord and for harpsichord with one other instrument . A search engine leads to compositions from all over the world. Harpsichordists everywhere interested in the contemporary repertoire and members of Procembalo are all taking part in research and compilation of the new catalogue.
