“Il Clavicembolo Nella Musica Contemporanea Italiana” (The Harpsichord in Contemporary Italian Music) (March 2005) published by Associazione Clavicembalistica Bolognese is the fruit of intensive research by Novecembalo and features a complete catalogue of roughly 700 works for harpsichord by almost 300 composers.
The following is taken from a review by Maria Luisa Baldassarri appearing in Quaderni musicali marchigiani n. 11-2004, a music journal edited by R. Graciotti ISBN 978-88-392-0806-4.

/.../ the multiform galaxy of contemporary music is difficult to catalogue; there are numerous composers linked only to a local area, and many works are lost after the first performance not because they lack quality but because they are not disseminated, or the parts are hard to obtain. /.../ in this context, /.../ a publication like this by the President of the Associazione Clavicembalistica Bolognese, Maria Pia Jacoboni and Diadorim Saviola is particularly welcome. /.../ the wise decision to circumscribe the work to the Italian repertoire means it can be complete, /.../ As Diadorim Saviola writes in the introduction, and as the chronological list of works shows, the harpsichord gradually acquired a more fixed position in 20 Century Italian music, /.../ leafing through /.../ you find evidence of the research that went into the book, and there are letters and documents relating to composers, heirs and publishers which almost warrant another separate book on the musical and personal lives of the people and organisations. Sometimes the way a fact is discovered is as interesting as the fact itself. /.../ The indices and tables are numerous, complete and useful. There are of course indices of composers, titles and performances, and there is also a diagram of distribution during the years the works were written as well as a table showing the number of works written for each formation. /.../ This categorisation of works /.../ is useful in the search for pieces of written for different formations. /.../ the volume is intended to be work in progress, with updates and supplements in future editions. We hope that this will be the case and that the volume will stimulate new composers to approach the harpsichord and exploit the entire range of its possibilities.
